A Sensory-Informed Learning & Exploration Initiative
Empower Play™ is a community-centered after school program created by Delaware Sensory Museum to support neurodivergent children and families through inclusive experiences rooted in STEM exploration, sensory engagement, movement, creativity, communication development, wellness, and social connection.
Designed to simulate key elements of a future permanent sensory-informed facility, Empower Play combines immersive learning experiences with caregiver support, environmental awareness, and intentional community collaboration.
Our goal is simple: create spaces where children can explore freely, families feel supported, and inclusion is intentionally designed into every experience.
EMPOWER PLAY™ FAMILY COHORTS
The Empower Play™ after school program will operate through two 6-month cohorts designed to provide consistent, sensory-informed enrichment experiences for participating families.

Ages 3–6
This cohort focuses on:
Foundational sensory exploration
Early language development and communication skills
Social-emotional learning and emotional regulation
Early social engagement and peer interaction
Movement and regulation activities
Creative play and hands-on discovery
Caregiver-supported participation
Adaptive learning experiences
Recommended For:
Neurodivergent children
Children with sensory sensitivities
Families seeking inclusive enrichment opportunities

This cohort focuses on:
STEM exploration and collaborative learning
Language development and communication growth
Social-emotional learning and confidence building
Sensory-informed enrichment experiences
Social development and peer engagement
Creative problem-solving activities
Movement-based exploration
